Pearl Vision kits feature the controlled punch of birch-ply shells (except VMX) with 6-ply 7.5mm-thick rack toms for incredible sensitivity and tone, and 8-ply 10mm-thick floor toms and bass drums for high-energy power and punch, giving Vision the widest possible dynamic range and musicality available at such an affordable price range.
Vision drumsets feature two very different shell thicknesses: 6 plies on rack toms and 8 plies on bass and floor toms, for incredibly balanced sound. Lower frequencies require greater energy to project equally to match the higher frequencies produced by smaller drums. Vision's unique 6/8 technology makes this possible. Vision's exclusive two-ply heads are easier to tune, and deliver full, powerful sound right out of the box. With the exception of the Vision Maple VMX, Vision drumsets feature Pearl's M.I.P.A. award-winning 900 series hardware. From the Birch Ply shell of VX to the 100% Maple shell of VMX, Vision is the next level perfection for the drummer who can tell the difference.

Pearl Vision VSX
Pearl's 60 years of acoustic research has proven that the interior plies of the shell are the key influence to the overall sonic characteristic of the drum. Vision Series exploits this knowledge to the fullest by using two unique shell recipes of Birch and Basswood. Birch offers a resilient tightly bound network of cells that tend to accelerate rebounding sound waves making it perfect where mid to high frequencies are desired. Basswood provides a slightly softer cellulose composition which tends to slow the sound waves thus promoting mid to low frequency response. By adjusting the overall balance of one ingredient to the other allows a fine tuning of frequency response much like our Reference Series.

Pearl Vision VX
Based on the original Vision formula, VX drumsets feature blended Birch Ply shells with 6/8 shell technology. Lower frequencies require greater energy to project equally to match the high frequencies produced by smaller drums. Vision's combination of six-ply rack toms and eight-ply floor toms and bass drums deliver a dynamically balanced sound. Pearl offers 9 standard Vision configurations, more than any other drum manufacturer. VX comes with a Brushed Steel SensiTone snare drum and Award-Winning 900 Series Hardware. VX is available in 6 more affordable solid color wrap options, 3 of which boast black drum hardware.
