The Zoom H2 is an easy-to-use, ultra-portable, 2-track digital recording device that puts pro-quality audio in the palm of your hand, literally. This Zoom H2 Handy Recorder, the follow-up to Zoom's super-successful H4, provides brilliant stereo recording with its unique internal 4-mic capsule and features one button recording, gain controls on the side, and an intuitive user interface. Although it weighs only 4 ounces it fits in your pocket, it also features several different polar patterns and signal-processing capabilities so you can record 4-channel data that can be authored into 5.1 surround. Other features of this portable digital marvel include a USB interface, backlit display, on-board chromatic guitar/bass tuner, external mic input, time stamp function, auto gain control (AGC) and low-cut filter for pristine recordings without wind noise, and an auto start function so you're always ready to record. Now anyone can record pristine stereo audio in a variety of applications from seminars and conferences, to electronic news gathering (ENG) and podcasting, to live musical performances, songwriting sessions, rehearsals and more, all with digital recording quality. Four Mics Are Better Than Two
The H2 is the only portable recorder with 4 mic capsules onboard for 360 degree recording. With 4 mic capsules (facing front and rear) in a W-X/Y configuration, the audio is decoded instantly, bringing these four signals together for unparalleled stereo imaging. Zoom's H2 records on SD media cards up to 4GB and ships with a 512MB card. In addition, you can set the file format to the widest variety of bit rates available for increased recording time. For maximum flexibility, you can record from the front of the H2 and at 90 degrees or the rear of H2 at 120 degrees in up to 96 kHz/24-bit WAV format, as MP3 up to 320 kbps. Additionally, you can record 360 degrees in 48kHz/24-bit format, allowing you to convert your recordings to 5.1 Surround. After recording, the built-in 3D panning function gives you full control over the front/rear/left/right balance. Or use commonly available authoring software to create 5.1 surround recordings. No other portable digital recorder has this ability.
Flexibility Rules
Play your recordings on your home audio system with its 1/8" stereo output or listen to your masterpiece with headphones. Plus the H2's onboard USB interface lets you manage your files by moving them to your PC or Mac for storage and editing with your favorite Digital Audio Workstation software. The Zoom H2 comes with earbuds, an 1/8 inch stereo to RCA cable, a mic clip adapter, tripod stand, USB cable, an AC adapter and a 512MB SD card. With a 4GB SD memory card (not included) the H2 provides up to 2 hours recording at 96kHz, 6 hours at 44.1kHz, or up to 138 hours in MP3 mode. Two standard alkaline AA batteries (not included) will give you up to 4 hours of continuous operation.
